Landscape Representation: GIS and Environmental Design Applications

Course Code: DME2016

Following DME2015 Introduction, students will expand their research and analysis to explore GIS applications for site design and assessment. Students will gain proficiency in evaluating datasets for analytical purposes, creating collections of information, and using data in maps that support design recommendations. In this course, students will learn how to represent conceptual models with data compiled from multiple sources. These data models generate new information about spatial, physical and cultural relationships for various sites. DME2016 Applications is a continuation of the skills and topics in the previous section. Students will choose a site in Boston and develop new maps and data analysis iterations.
